You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.NOTE; Olive was previously named Tiny when she was part of our rescue
Tiny is a 4 year-old chi-weenie which is a combination of a chihuahua and dachshund. Her eyes stand out as she looks at you with so much love in them and she wags her tail constantly.
Tiny is the type of dog that needs a human who is around a lot. Someone looking for a buddy companion to keep him/her company at home will be compatible adopting Tiny, and she will be pleased living in a place where she gets a lot of attention.
A typical day at her foster home is resting on a couch/dog bed next to the family member, or on a lap of someone sitting such as at a computer. She is a sweet dog that will be happy in a quiet relaxed home. She likes to follow people around in the house and is content to lay next to them, but if they get up to walk around, she is right there by their side.
Playing with toys is a fun activity for Tiny. Besides playing she sometimes buries them under a blanket for safe keeping or likes stealing them from her foster dog sister. When there is no movement going on, Tiny will race around the room, jumping in and out of dog beds getting exercise on her own.
Tiny likes car rides and motion makes her calm. She curls up on the car seat or sits in the driver's/passenger's lap waiting patiently to see what adventure she is going on. In the backyard, she goes to the bathroom then wants to immediately come back into the house. If the foster mother wants to take a longer walk, she just carries Tiny since she is so lightweight.
4LD recommends Tiny be placed in a home where the owner has a lot of availability to be home with her. Tiny is very dependent on people. The best home for Tiny is one without children. She is OK to cuddle with an older child, but Tiny is not the type of dog to play with children. We want to set the expectation that she is not one to be active with a child or doing a lot of running and playing with another dog. Tiny is more of a home buddy wanting to lay near an adult for her own need of companionship.
Tiny has some separation anxiety issues that have gradually been getting better. For example, she howls or barks when left alone which is something the fosters have been working on. We want the adopter to be aware at the beginning that there will be adjustment time needed to work through Tiny's insecurity issues when the adults leave for an errand or work.
Tiny's adoption fee is $400. This dog comes microchipped, spayed, up-to-date shots, and vaccines. You can apply for her at www.4luckydogs.org.
She was surrendered by her owner and given to 4 Lucky Dogs after she had a litter of puppies. The average lifespan for this type of dog is 15 years; therefore, Tiny's adopter will need to be prepared to care for her for around 13 more years so she will not have to move to a different home again.
*** 4 Lucky Dogs is not a shelter or facility where dogs can be viewed. All our rescue dogs are in loving foster homes throughout Florida. We do not usually adopt outside of the state of FL. If interested in finding out more about this dog, please fill out an application and you will be contacted by phone if you are a fit. *** 7/8/23 3:39 PM
