I’m a playful, affectionate boy who absolutely adores attention and cuddles, but I do have some quirks that you should know about. I’m quite boisterous, which means I might get a bit wriggly and jumpy when you give me pats, love and attention. I’m learning that it’s okay to move away when I need a break, and I’d really appreciate it if you respect that. I’d prefer to be in a home with no children under 12, as I can become a bit over-excited and need space to calm down when I’ve had enough petting. When it comes to other dogs, I have a tendency to stare at them as I'm still learning what other doggy friends mean. Because of this, I’d need to be the only dog in the household to keep things harmonious. As a Staffy, I’m full of energy and love to play, so I’ll need plenty of mental and physical stimulation to keep me happy and healthy. Adopt a dog:Felix/Jack Russell Terrier (Wire)/Male/12 Years 2 Months,Hey there! My name's Felix, it's nice to meet you! I'm an older gentleman who's on the lookout for my furever home. Could that be you?   In my pawfect home, my people will be home more often than not please! You see I really like my people! Once I get settled in and you provide me my safe space I will feel better about being left alone. If I'm left alone too long I tend to get a bit worried so any alone time should be built up slowly please.   I'm an older guy and I don't really show much interest in other dogs. I will usually walk past other dogs without any concerns but sometimes I will bark so it would be best if I was the only doggo please so I can comfortably enjoy my retirement.   I would like to go to a home with just adults please. I'm an older man who needs a mature household who will know to respect my space and not overwhelm me with unpredictable handling and touch. It takes me a moment to warm up to people, so I'd love an adult household where my people can understand this and will know to read my body language and know when I'm saying I've had enough. It's like the old saying – Let Sleeping Dogs Lie – I love my cosy bed because it means I can go there and just relax. I need interactions to be calm and predictable as sometimes I can be frightened when things happen that I am not prepared for. Having poor eyesight doesn’t stop me enjoying time outside exercising, and I still love going for walks in familiar areas. My vets have plans to remove my cataracts to help me regain some more sight, but I will need to settle into my new home first and then have the surgery done after a month or two. This will help me get to know my new family first and allow for a much smoother recovery period. The cost of the surgery will be covered by RSPCA as part of my adoption agreement and my vets can talk to you about the process if you are interested in meeting me.   My new home will need to be located within the Sydney region to allow for vet visits at RSPCA Veterinary Hospital.

I’m looking for an experienced owner who understands that I’m a bit of a nervous Nellie. When I first arrived at the shelter, I was quite nervous, and even though I’ve made progress, I still get a bit anxious sometimes. But don’t worry, I’m not as timid as I used to be! I’m super food motivated, which is great news because it means I’m a quick learner when treats are involved. My ideal home is one where things are calm and quiet. I’m not a fan of loud noises or a lot of commotion. I need a peaceful environment to feel safe and relaxed. When you meet me, it’s important that everyone in the household gets to know me. I’m a little wary of new people at first, especially if they’re unfamiliar, so it’s best if all the members of the family come to meet me before we head home together. This includes any kids in the house. I’d do best with children who are at least 12 years old and can understand that I need my space and gentle interactions. While I don’t show a lot of interest in other dogs, I am comfortable around them. I might be able to live with another calm dog if they’re okay with just co-existing and not trying to be my best friend right away. I might be nervous, but once I get to know you, you’ll see just how sweet and loving I can be. I need someone who’s willing to take things slowly and create a safe haven for me, maybe a cozy crate or a quiet corner where I can retreat when I need to. Adopt a dog:Harlo/Irish Wolfhound/Male/1 Year 2 Months,Hey there, my name is Harlo, and I am a sweet young wolfhoundX that is now on the lookout for my very own family! I would love to have a home that allows me both indoor and outdoor access, I can still learn indoor spaces but am gaining confident each day, I would love to be able to snuggle up on the couch with you of a night and have a nice secure backyard for me to spend the day playing and basking in the sun.
