***Local adoption only: Forrest must be adopted by someone in the Central Florida Region who can commit to taking him to his final puppy vetting appointments with PPR's vetting partner in Chuluota.***
Meet Forrest! This Great Pyrenees-Poodle blend (we aren't sure exactly what his breed is - he came from a shelter that had gotten 30 dogs from a backyard breeder) is currently 4 months old and 41 lbs (although we think he'll grow to be twice that size and be a BIG boy). Fun-loving Forrest is looking for a fine forever family who will raise him, train him, and love him for the rest of his days.
General Behavior: Forrest is a happy, playful, goofy pup who will make a great companion! He is currently learning to explore the world around him with zoomies, wrestling matches, and sniffs.
Likes & Dislikes: Forrest loves to play with toys! He is still learning what is and isn't a toy, though: If he can grab an item, it becomes a chew toy. He loves to play with other dogs, too and has been friendly with every dog and person he meets.
Training: Forrest is a smart cookie! Even though he's a puppy, he already knows sit and down. Forrest is working on house training and does well if watched closely and let out frequently. While walking on the leash, he does a good job of not pulling but will need continued training.
Medical: Forrest is a healthy boy! He just needs his monthly flea and heartworm medication, like any dog. He also needs his final puppy vetting appointments. These have already been scheduled with PPR's vetting partners, and are covered in his donation amount: all you would need to do is take him to the appointments.
Other Animals: Forrest is good with other dogs of all shapes and sizes. He is interested in cats and is learning they should not be chased.
Children: Forrest needs to work on jumping and will not be a good fit for families with small children due to his size. He needs a home with teen children only.
Home: Forrest needs a single-family home where someone is around more often than not to continue his training. He will whine for a few minutes when left alone before settling down.
Grooming: Even though Forrest is a doodle, his hair is straighter and he will likely shed. He will need grooming every 6-8 weeks.
Overall: Forrest is a laidback puppy who would adapt well to most environments.
