This gorgeous, derpy 1 1/2 year old fella found himself in a tough spot. He was surrendered to Animal Control for being an escape artist. Kody is another innocent bystander of folks not educating themselves on the breed. Huskies aren't for everyone!
But let us just tell you... As far as Huskies go, he's phenomenal! We feel like we struck gold. He's just a young, excitable fella. Kody is 1 1/2 years old, healthy, neutered and current on his vaccines. He is housebroken, crate trained, has a great singing voice, moderate energy, AH-MAY-ZING on a leash for a Husky, loves to play with other dogs, a good eater and a great snuggler. What more can you ask for???
Kody would like a home with another playful pup or one who would socialize him regularly. He'd be a great doggy daycare or dog park candidate. He'd be fine living as an only dog if he got regular play with others. Kody eats in his crate and we also separate when we give high value rewards. He needs an XL crate because he's SO tall. Kody is 58 lbs now and still too skinny. He'll likely be 65-70 lbs once he's filled out. He is easily over 5 ft tall when he stands on his hind legs. He's met and done well with children. He loves to have his chest rubbed and has no handling issues. He'll even let you wipe his paws!
Kody would be fine being leash walked for exercise and a fenced yard isn't required if you're willing to keep him leashed outdoors at all times. He's a little nervous in the car, he doesn't pace or anything - just looks alarmed. Once he realizes he gets to go fun places he'll start to love it. He's an adventurous type of guy. Kody is being fostered in MD and anyone wishing to adopt should be willing to travel to him.

~~Husky Education And Rescue Team is a foster based rescue. Our dogs are in our foster homes all up and down the east coast. We do not have a facility in which you can visit. We find this a huge benefit because we learn our dogs and are able to educate our adopters on what it's like to have them live in your home. Part of our process, once pre-approved, is to speak with the foster for the dog you're interested in. If you're still interested in adopting from our rescue the first step is to complete our adoption application online at www.huskyrescueteam.org/apply
