Birdie had a rough start to her life. She was living on a beach in Tijuana when our rescuers found her. She was severely underweight and when she arrived to our vet we found that she had suffered some sort of trauma that had crushed part of her spine. It's a miracle that she can walk (and does so normally!) but the trauma did cause her to become incontinent.
Despite all of her hardships early in life, Birdie is incredibly sweet, affectionate, and playful. She loves just being around you, going on walks and trips to the park. If she seems shy or timid at first, she’ll warm up in no time. While she becomes attached to humans quickly, she doesn’t mind spending time alone napping in the yard or sleeping in her crate at night. She’s been going on walks with her foster sister and is a natural on leash. She LOVES to run around and play with her puppy friends. This girl has a LOT of love to give and would do best in a home with a yard and understanding/patience with managing incontinence.
