Poppy is a sweet yet nervous girl who needs help feeling comfortable with new things. Poppy loves to play with balanced dogs and typically does not have a problem with most dogs but does not mix well with fearful dogs as herself. Poppy does not mix well with other fearful dogs. She tends to digress in those packs. She does well around people she knows and gets nervous around new people. The key is to use some structure to allow her some time to feel comfortable. She does best when she is in the background and when you split her focus in uncomfortable situations. I usually use her canine friends, walks, and sometimes muzzles to speed up the time she needs to feel comfortable. She is a great girl and loves attention. She has spent lots of time with children here. It took a little time for her to be comfortable with them. Now she loves them all and looks forward to their affection. Poppy needs an environment that allows her time to get comfortable. She also needs someone that advocates for her. She loves exercising and would love to walk at least 4 days a week. She does not need to walk too far. Most walks that are a mile or less do the trick for her. Poppy loves to chase and be chased by her canine friends. She also loves to wrestle with trusted canine friends. She loves to chew bones and toys. Poppy also loves to have a dog bed. Regular exercise and activity stops that. Poppy walks very nicely but can get nervous enough to react when some people walk by. Poppy tends to warm up to women faster than men. Poppy's dream day would include some play time, affection, and lots of nap time. She loves to just hang out and nap with the group.
