Meet Serenity!
Serenity is an approximately 5-year-old Cane Corso mix who was surrendered to Philly ACCT by her previous owners due to her health for what seems like allergies (ear odor, licking and scratching).
Serenity's previous owners report her as being quiet, nervous, calm, good with children/men/women, good with other dogs and walks well on a leash. They stated she is a very laid-back and submissive dog. She lived with children ages 6-14 previously and reportedly did well. She also lived with 3 other dogs. It is unknown how she is with cats, so a kitty-free home is recommended.
Serenity had been at ACCT for nearly a week but hadn’t left her kennel because she was so terrified in the noisy shelter. After sitting with her for 15 min, she trusted one of the ACCT volunteers enough to leash her and take her outside. She was so nervous and hand shy, but after a while started following her around the run! She seemed to relax a bit around other dogs and her body language became looser around them. Her ears were in terrible shape and she’s been horribly overbred. She looks a lot older than her supposed 4-5 years.
Serenity will be fully vetted prior to adoption including exam/full bloodwork, spay, microchip, vaccines, deworm, 4dx heartworm/tick test, on monthly heartworm prevention, and on monthly flea/tick prevention. She will also be treated for her ear infection/allergies.

NOTE: All dogs over 6 months of age stay in BRPBR foster care for a minimum of 30 days before going to a forever home. This insures we are able to address any issues (whether behavioral or medical) and also helps us learn more about them to better pair them with a forever home! Serenity will be able to go to a forever home at the earliest: 11/17. We DO accept and process applications during the waiting period, however!
