Cooper needs a hero! This sweet boy lost his human mommy on Thanksgiving of 2018. Cooper's mom adored him so when she knew she would no longer be able to care for him she asked a family member to take care of him after she passed. Cooper is mostly blind but unfortunately his new dad had no interest in helping him to navigate his new surroundings so this poor baby fell into the family swimming pool and after that his new family abandoned him at the local shelter.
Next, poor Cooper was sent to a blind dog rescue which then sent him to a ranch where he was confined to a dark, windowless storage room for ten months. Finally after all this trauma this little boy was found by a kind soul who wanted to give him the love and attention he so needed and deserved. By this point Cooper was completely disoriented and feeling down on his luck but his foster mommy got him home, started taking him on much needed walks, introduced him to her pups and sure enough Cooper got a new lease on life!
Cooper has learned to navigate very quickly but still prefers not to have to navigate on his own. He understand "touch, touch", his humans way of letting him know he is about to be loved on, "step up", "step down", "bush" and is eager to learn more. Cooper is a loving pup but can nip sometimes when startled. We would love to place Cooper with a family experienced with blind dogs or a family willing to take the time to help Cooper adjust. This senior boy is ready to find that special person, could that be you? Got to Snarrnortheast.org today to fill out an application to meet this special gentleman

If you are interested in adopting any of our dogs, the adoption fee is $495 (puppies) $375 (adults) which includes transportation from the South to NYC and we do suggest putting a 1st, 2nd and 3rd choice on your application if applying for a puppy with several litter mates.
**Please understand that we are a volunteer based organization. While our volunteers try to answer all emails/questions as quickly as possible, below please find answers to some of our most frequently asked questions. We ask that you please read the FAQ's to see if your questions have already been answered before emailing additional questions:
-If a dog or puppy is listed on Petfinder, they are still available. Please do not email asking if they are still available. If a dog or puppy is still listed, then we are accepting applications:-) We do not go on a first come first serve basis, but on best fit for a family and most importantly the puppy or dog.
-We are taking our best guess on breed and size when fully grown(or already an adult), based on the puppy's/dog's physical appearance and what we might have learned about one or both parents depending on the situation. We rarely are able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time.
-The way to start the process for any dog or puppy is by filling out an application, Applications for foster or adoption can be found at www.snarrnortheast.org and by clicking either adopt or foster from the main menu. If you fill out an application, please make sure you answer all the questions in as much detail as possible and that you receive a confirmation email, otherwise we did NOT receive it.
