The Milo Foundation AnimalID is 29596 and the Current Location is at the Milo Sanctuary. Please see our website www.milofoundation.org for the current status of this animal. A wonderful Milo adopter has generously donated half of Otto's adoption fee! His fee is now $250. Otto is a big beauty of a boy. He is the classic big guardian breed, willing and compliant, stoic, serious and will guard you. He will greet you with tail wagging in his quietly jolly way. Guardian dogs are nocturnal, and tend to stay up at night and bark. It's their job to guard the sheep while the shepherd is sleeping. No other small dogs in the home. We can dog test w/ your large dog if you bring them with you. Otto is very sweet and mellow. He loves getting pets and attention. He is also intelligent and trainable, so he knows a few commands like sit, down, back up and even knows to speak . He is still working on his leash manners. Otto sometimes will show leash aggression which only occurs during walks and with only some dogs. He will also bond with his person and this will bring out his guardian background. These behaviors can be corrected but he will need a dog savvy and committed person to reinforce good behavior. The nocturnal and guarding nature are typical of the breed and should be expected. NO CATS OR SMALL DOGS IN THE HOME. Otto needs a quiet home and would prefer to live with just one person and/or another dog his size, but no children and no small dogs. Otto needs a good size piece of land to roam and guard, with few cars going by. He's nocturnal (stays awake at night) and will bark. **His new person must be guardian dog savvy and have the time/patience it takes to continue his training.** A wonderful Milo adopter has generously donated half of Otto's adoption fee! His fee is now $250.This is the Animal Description Footer
