Located approximately 27 miles outside of Gatlinburg, near the town of Townsend, TN, beautiful Cades Cove in the Great Smoky Mountains offers a variety of hiking trails and wildlife viewing opportunities. You can take Fido along for a scenic drive on Cades Cove Loop Road, an 11 mile stretch of roadway through the Smoky Mountain valley. Due to its location, you'll almost certainly see deer in Cades Cove. If you're lucky, you might even spot a bear, fox, or wild turkey. Dogs must remain in vehicles.
