Lake Sakakawea State Park is located on the south shore of Lake Sakakawea, one of the three largest man-made reservoirs in the nation. The primary recreation at the park is water sports, and the park has a full-service marina with a convenience store and boater and camper storage. The park is also the terminus for the North Country National Scenic Trail and has several multi-use trails for hiking, biking, cross-country skiing, and snowshoeing. Dogs must be leashed at all times throughout the park and humans must clean up after their pets.
