Dogs are not allowed on the beaches between 9am and 6pm from mid-May through the end of September. No restrictions apply for the remainder of the year. Montauk has no leash laws and dogs may run on the beach with supervision when permitted. Owners are expected to exercise control, particularly on crowded beaches, and to clean up after their dogs. The beach can be accessed through several points along Old Montauk Highway or right in the center of town.
