The City of Ames now offers an opportunity for dogs to play off-leash in a designated 10-acre dog park. The dog park is located at 605 Billy Sunday Road. Billy Sunday Road is located off South Duff Avenue, behind the City's Animal Shelter. The Dog Park is comprised of two areas; a 2-acre area for dogs less than 25 pounds and an 8-acre area for larger dogs. To utilize the Dog Park owners must provide a current rabies vaccination certification and purchase a Facility Use Permit Tag.
