Dogs are welcome at Monroe Lake, the largest lake located entirely within Indiana. The reservoir is man-made and was first filled in 1965. People come from all around to enjoy the water on their boats and indulge in a variety of recreational activities such as water skiing. If Fido is a landlubber, they'll be pleased to discover that this lake is surrounded by thousands of acres of forests and a number of pet-friendly hiking trails, including the BlueBird Trail, Tree Trek Trail, Turkey Trot Trail, and the Whitetail Trail. None of the trails are over 1.75 miles in length and pets are allowed on all of them as long as they are on a leash under six feet.
