Kea'au Shelter's Bark Park is one of three dog parks operated by Hawaii Island Humane Society, the only public dog parks on the island. Members of the public over the age of 18 are invited to bring up to 3 dogs into the park at a time. There are two Bark Parks at the Kea'au shelter, one for large dogs and one for dogs under 30 lbs. Kea'au Shelter's Bark Park is open Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 5:30pm and Saturday from 7:30am to 4:00pm.
