Denali State Park

George Parks Highway, Trapper Creek, AK, US, 99683

Pets are welcome at state parks and campgrounds if leashed and accompanied by the owner at all times; unleashed dogs are allowed in the backcountry but must be within voice command. Please clean up after your pet. Sled dogs and horses should not be tied within 100' of a cabin.

Denali State Park is an integral part of one of North America's most spectacularly beautiful regions. The park's 325,240 acres, almost one-half the size of Rhode Island, provide the visitor with a great variety of recreational opportunities, ranging from roadside camping to wilderness exploration. Except for roadside facilities, the park is essentially a wilderness. Proper equipment, good physical condition, and appropriate knowledge are necessary for safe backcountry travel. Hiking routes may not be clearly marked, so the ability to use topographic maps is essential, especially in poor weather.
