Dandy is a 6 week old fun and playful little girl. She is a mixed breed pup that is estimated to weigh about 45 lbs. when she is full grown. She likes to play with stuffed animals the most and has the best time chewing on them. She likes to run fast and wrestle with her siblings. She is also very sweet and lovable. She will climb in your lap and try to shower you with kisses.
Dandy is medium energy so she will require longer walks or play time daily. She also needs lots of chew toys and mental stimulation toys so she doesn't chew on things she isn't supposed to. She would love to join an active family that enjoys hiking and going on outdoor adventures.
Dandy is kid, cat, and dog friendly. She would be a great pup to join a family with existing pets as she loves her foster mom's resident dogs and cats in the home. Because Dandy is still so young, we recommend a family with older children that know how to be gentle with a pup her size. She would absolutely love to have kids in the home that can play and snuggle with her.
Dandy is working on mastering potty training and currently uses a potty pad to do her business. She does sleep in a playpen or kennel at night, and doesn't mind at all. Because she is so young, she has not yet begun leash training, so this will need to be done once she is in her forever home. She would love to have a home with a fenced in backyard to run around and play in as she grows.

Dandy is in a foster home in Central Texas and will be transported once adopted. Dandy cannot be adopted in Canada at this time. She will not be spayed before she leaves due to her age and size, so there will be a $200 refundable deposit added onto her adoption and transport fees.
TRANSPORT: Currently we have monthly transports. It will be up to the adoptive family to meet the transport to pick up your new family member. Please be advised that our dogs are adopted to their forever families prior to being transported. Unfortunately at this time, we cannot bring dogs for a typical meet and greet situation, due to the extensiveness of the transport distance and it being unfair for the dogs who are not adopted to have to make the trip back.
Please be advised that applications are reviewed in the order that they are received. To ensure we are honoring the dogs that we have committed to helping, we do have policies and procedures in place that we follow when reviewing adoption applications. LAPP Dog Rescue is ran 100% by volunteers, so please be mindful that when you submit an application that it can take a few days to be reviewed. Submitting an application is not a confirmation that the adoption will be approved/completed. The total cost to adopt is $830, which includes a $400 adoption fee, a $200 refundable spay deposit and $230 transport fee. The adoption fee includes all age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, flea/tick/heartworm prevention, dewormer, and health certificate from a licensed veterinarian.
