Jett is looking for his forever family! This happy, spunky little guy is a 3.5-month-old, mixed breed pup. He’s loved joining along for trips to the dog friendly brewery, exploring outside and is always up for playtime. When he’s had his fun, Jett loves to crash for a nap—frequently one that involves sleeping with his tongue out! He’s quick to become your new best friend and has enjoyed having another pup around to keep him company. His foster says he is the sweetest, most affectionate puppy they’ve ever met and that he quickly wins over the hearts of everyone he meets. Jett is potty trained and has been making good progress with settling in the crate. Based on his current age and size, we anticipate that he’ll be medium-sized when fully grown.
Jett came to us when he was just four weeks old, along with his siblings. A few days into foster care he was showing symptoms that led us to get further testing done. Our vet partners discovered that he has megaesophagus—a disorder where food accumulates in the dog’s esophagus often causing issues with digestion. We caught it early and got him medication to help him adjust to life with this condition. Due to the diagnosis, he needs to eat smaller, more frequent meals throughout the day and he has to sit up during and after eating. Despite this, Jett is a typical happy, playful and loving puppy who is just like any other young pup. This will be something he has lifelong, but it’s manageable. If you follow the #megaesophagusdog hashtag you’ll see plenty of owners who have pups with this condition and how they make it work.
