Meet Scooby!
We have this little guy with a foster in GA. He was an owner surrender due to his humans separating ?.
We are told Scooby is 14 yrs old. He definitely doesn’t act it, but he is a senior. He’s less than 20lb. We are told he’s a Boykin / Poodle Mix. He does great with other dogs.
HERE IS THE HURDLE. Scooby can NOT go to a home with kids. Scooby is not a fan of being picked up. Prior to entering Project Freedom Ride he was predominately just in the backyard and had access to the shed. Unfortunately this meant he wasn’t handled a lot and isn’t house broken. Although he will seek out pets, and even take belly rubs, he does not liked to be picked up and will snap.
At the vet he wore a muzzle and did well with that but without it there was no way they could have safely vetted him. He was also full of mats so he was fully sedated to be neutered, have his teeth cleaned, and groomed.
Medically this boy is sound as can be and he is the stinkin’ cutest. But people want to hold little dogs and that’s NOT his jam. We don’t know if that will change over time. Having a ramp or steps up to your couch so he can sit next to you without being lifted up would be more his style.
If you think you are an amazing home for Scooby, please fill out our adoption application. He currently is body clipped, so this is a pre-shave picture.
Scooby's adoption fee is $450 which includes his neuter, current vaccinations, negative heartworm test, registered microchip, and transport costs.
He is available through Project Freedom Ride. He would be transported on one of the PFR transports to either Meridian ID, SLC, UT, Seattle, WA, Mt Vernon, WA, Kennewick, WA, Portland, OR, Buffalo/Syracuse/Newburgh/Castleton on Hudson, NY, Chester, PA, Cleveland, OH, Springfield, IL, Halethorpe, MD, Lansing, MI, Springfield/Richmond, VA or Bedminster, NJ. For more information on how a Direct Adoption with Project Freedom Ride works or to meet this guy via video call, email projectfreedomride@yahoo.com.
As a Project Freedom Ride direct adoption, the adoption interview/meet and greet would take place on video call (FB Messenger Call, Facetime, Whats App, or Google Duo). The adoption application and fee would be finalized prior to transport.
