Adopt a dog:Merry/Boxer/Female/Baby,Hi there! My name is Merry. I am the sweetest little girl with the gentlest little paws and most beautiful big eyes. And yes, before you ask, I was named after the lovable hobbit from the Lord of the Rings. So yes, much like Merry, I have a cheerful, sunny nature with a mischievous, lively, and courageous personality. My foster mama took me in after my siblings and I were brought in to the local shelter at three weeks without our mama. Since the shelter can’t provide round-the-clock care and since we didn’t have our mama, it was either a rescue step up or we would be put down. Luckily for my siblings and I, we made it out just in time and have been thriving since! I am pretty darn lucky and love to show my humans how thankful I am by always giving the best nose kisses. I also LOVE singing them songs, (ahem, much like Merry from Lord of the Rings) I love to howl! Beyond my lovable personality, I have the PERFECT coat. I’m tri-colored and soft. I’ll make the perfect snuggle buddy, but my hair won’t grow too long so no need to detangle or send me to the groomers! Home baths will work just fine! I live with my foster mama’s other dogs, one big and one small, and love to play with both! I am (mostly!) pee pad trained and (very!) eager to learn any and all new tricks!

Peanut is a ~25 lbs, 6 year old Corgi and currently resides in South Korea. He lives with his foster and was rescued March 2022 from an illegal breeder.

Unfortunately, Peanut's start in life is not a good one. He was kept in poor conditions by an illegal breeder. Because of this, he is missing most of his teeth and only has three left. He also has cosmetic injuries on his left ear and right front paw (missing one toe). We are unsure of how these injuries occurred, but they are only cosmetic. He cannot chew hard kibble, so we currently feed him wet food. And we know how his pictures look- let's be honest, Peanut looks old! After multiple trips to the vet to confirm his age, we can definitely say that Peanut is only six!

Despite this rough start, Peanut is an incredibly sweet and gentle Corgi. He loves people and is relatively quiet. He does tend to avoid other dogs rather than socialize. Peanut does not have an aggressive bone in his body! Peanut loves going on walks and eating. He is house-trained and walks well on a leash.

We are looking for Peanut's forever home that will provide him a loving, comfortable life.

We do not recommend dogs to be left alone for over 4 hours and strongly recommend that all of our adopters look into a doggy daycare if they will be away for more than 4 hours.

Please keep in mind that we are unable to consider applicants that are not within a 45 minute driving distance from Springfield, Virginia at this time.

*Peanut is currently at a foster home in Korea. We transport our dogs after an adopter has been secured, so unfortunately, we do not provide meet and greets. Instead, we do our best to provide as much description, pictures and videos as possible.

*** We typically do not adopt to homes with children under 8 years old. A home check is mandatory before adoption. We adopt to residents of Northern VA and Washington DC suburbs only. Applicants must be at least 25 years old. Has a social media account for us to monitor pets after adoption; (Please note, we monitor all pets after adoption);

Prior to rescue, many of our dogs have experienced minimal socialization and it takes time for them to learn about life as a family pet. Common skills such as house training and leash walking may often take a little extra time. Patience, understanding and a gentle hand are a must. The great news is, most of these dogs come around rather quickly and being a part of their rehabilitation is an extremely rewarding experience.

Adopt a dog:Blu/English Bulldog/Female/Adult,Blu is an English bulldog with a very sweet personality and lot of potential. Blu was rescued from a puppy mill in Lancaster and when she came to us she was scared of everything. She has come a long way since then but is still very timid. She will require a family who is willing to be patient with her while she transitions into your home, and grows into her personality.
Blu loves having a space to call her own where she can find comfort when she is frightened, but does not enjoy being crated. She does greate being left alone in a safe room and is not destructive when left out; since crating is not ideal for her. Blu does not quite understand furniture just yet, and has no interest in being up on the couch as of now. She loves squeaky toys, treats and face scratches! Blu is potty trained but requires an extra push when building up the courage to go outside. Regression is common in new environments.
Blu is a mill dog so she will require a family with a physically fenced in yard since she doesn't love leash walking yet. Blu gets along with other dogs and doesn't mind cats but would do best as an only dog or with another dog that isn't territorial.
Blu loves getting baths but does shed so if your not fond of dog hair please keep that in mind. Blu as a typical bulldog also requires that her skin be cleaned daily as she has a lot of folds on her belly.
Blu is up to date on all of her vaccines, microchipped, and spayed. Blu has not been around young children but has never shown any signs of aggression even in her most fearful moments. She is looking for a forever family who will continue to help her grow and learn how great it is to be a beloved pet!

Adopt a dog:Scooby/Poodle/Male/Senior,Meet Scooby!

We have this little guy with a foster in GA. He was an owner surrender due to his humans separating ?.

We are told Scooby is 14 yrs old. He definitely doesn’t act it, but he is a senior. He’s less than 20lb. We are told he’s a Boykin / Poodle Mix. He does great with other dogs.

HERE IS THE HURDLE. Scooby can NOT go to a home with kids. Scooby is not a fan of being picked up. Prior to entering Project Freedom Ride he was predominately just in the backyard and had access to the shed. Unfortunately this meant he wasn’t handled a lot and isn’t house broken. Although he will seek out pets, and even take belly rubs, he does not liked to be picked up and will snap.

At the vet he wore a muzzle and did well with that but without it there was no way they could have safely vetted him. He was also full of mats so he was fully sedated to be neutered, have his teeth cleaned, and groomed.
Medically this boy is sound as can be and he is the stinkin’ cutest. But people want to hold little dogs and that’s NOT his jam. We don’t know if that will change over time. Having a ramp or steps up to your couch so he can sit next to you without being lifted up would be more his style.

This cutie patootie is a 6 year old Yorkie / Poodle mix. She was surrendered with her puppy by her Lancaster breeder. She was no longer needed or wanted.

Mini is pretty fantastic. She can be shy / nervous on the leash, but sit down with her and she will run around - zoomies for days. She is a happy, silly and friendly little pup that will hop on your lap and give kisses. She is a fun dog that would do well with just about any home.

Mimi would do well with another social dog in a home. She would need to meet any resident dogs.

She will come spayed, vaccinated, dewormed, microchiped and 4dx tested. She is also scheduled for a dental.

Bug, Moose, Loo, Mikey, Nova and Wilson are 7 week old small breed mixes! Their mom is 13 pounds and dad was a complete mystery. We are now accepting multiple applications for pre approval and will be placing them in the best matched homes on 7/28.

These puppies have been raised in a foster home and have been socialized around other pets and kids. They are all extremely sweet and loving.
