Sissie is an active girl with lots of energy. If she isn't at doggy daycare, then her foster family brings her to a fenced in park to release her zoomies. She likes to play with dog toys and likes to tear apart the stuffed ones even more! Sissie loves other dogs and gets along great with just about everyone, however, she is territorial over her food with other dogs and should be fed separately.
Sissie is a blanket hog but isn't much of a cuddler and will only cuddle with her humans if there is a blanket to share. She likes to be close to her people but isn't a huge fan of affection she prefers her space to head scratches and pets, especially from strangers. Sissie's adopters should be prepared to keep up with her training and socialization, as she has come a long way in her foster home and is no longer reactive to strangers. She is crate trained and house trained. She chooses to nap in her crate during the day and knows this is her safe space when she needs a break. She alerts when she needs to go outside.
Sissie likes children but would do best in a home with older children only she thinks crawling children are trying to play and has been known to try and jump on them. Otherwise, she is incredibly gentle with children but will happily steal food out of their hands with no remorse. Sissie's foster has noticed that she fears certain objects, especially canes, crutches, long sticks, brooms etc. She is working on learning that these things aren't so scary. She is a smart but stubborn girl and tends to listen better to hand signals than voice commands. She is food motivated and will do just about anything for a treat. When Sissie is excited, she will sometimes jump and nip, which her foster is working with her on.
Sissie would do best with an active family to help her get her energy out. She is very loveable!
