Biggie is smart, can learn new commands and despite missing a leg, is very mobile and happy to play! He was in the animal shelter for quite some time, so he is still a little anxious to make sure his humans and dog friends are nearby, but he is adjusting well and is learning to play on his own too. He loves chew toys!
Biggie's perfect home is one where he will not be left alone too long every day, and if left, he wouldn't be crated for extended periods of time. He would love to have another girl dog companion, one who would want to play and interact with him. He likes to snuggle in the bed and is a good sleeper. He loves to play with kids and will play fetch with a tennis ball or tug-of-war for hours. Despite missing a leg due to being hit by a car, he still enjoys a good run and loves going on long walks.
When first in his foster home, Biggie would guard his food and water from the other male dog in the house. He has always been fed separately for this reason, but will happily share water now.
Biggie is sweet but can be a little leash reactive when passing dogs, but is easily re-directed. He has lived with a cat and learned not to try and play with him. He is still a playful nipper at times and he might jump when excited, so he is better with kids who are out of the toddler phase.
He doesn't have accidents in the crate, but he does have some crate anxiety. He has done fine being left out of the crate when home alone. He is mostly house trained, but may still have the odd accident, particularly if it's a rainy day and he's too eager to get back inside the house without going. He needs to work some more on his leash skills, but walks better with other dogs. He is not a fan of the car as he does suffer from car sickness.
