Gus will need a fenced in yard. Please do not inquire if you do not have one.
Sweet Gus arrived at our shelter after being struck by a vehicle. His front leg and his hip were injured. He had FHO surgery and his leg is mending. All that's left for Gus to do is heal and gain strength in the coming weeks. Gus is between 1 and 2 years old and his weight is about 70 lb. He is a striking boy. He has a sparkling personality and loves company. He is good with other dogs but not cats. Gus knows a few commands and is eager to please. He enjoys playing with his toys and would love to have a canine sibling to call his own. Although we feel Gus would enjoy smaller children, he is young , extremely playful, not to mention a big dog and most likely would play to rough for a small child or elderly person. It should also be known that he has a typical Shepherd personality and will be on guard with strangers. A slow meet and greet is recommended for new folks. Once he accepts you he will be loyal, playful and happily social.
He is living in foster care with other dogs. He is housebroken and fairly well mannered in the house. His activity should be fairly low for the next few weeks until his hip is fully recovered.
Is fee is $150 plus tax. Applications are required. Contact Laurie with inquiries.
