Hello ! This is Axel !

This sweet 6 month old Doberman blend is ready for his new home. Axel came to us from a bad situation where he was being abused and needs an experienced Doberman family, or someone with experience to help him overcome his past and set him up for success! Axel is already a big boy at his young age and we expect him to be 80-90 Lbs when full grown. A home with younger children wouldn’t be a good fit as he doesn’t know his size yet and he also doesn’t like to be grabbed by the collar. Dobie’s can be very mouth dominated dogs. He will need lots of toys to chew on and exercise to keep his puppy self occupied and prevent him from chewing shoes and other things. He is still working on his listening skills but with consistency and patience he will get it. He is highly treat motivated which will help in his training. We would highly recommend a training course for Axel. Proper introductions with other dogs is a must. He does gets along with other dogs but in defense he may growl. Axel is kennel, potty and dog door trained. He is sweet and as he settles into his foster home is learning to show affection. He needs walks and lots of yard time with lots of chew toys. A house with a younger active playful dog would be best. Adoptions outside of ID WA OR UT NV AND MT won’t be considered.
