Meet Gumby! He is around 4 years old and is a purebred yellow Labrador. He is currently being treated for a condition with his ears and skin and will be ready for adoption near the end of June. Gumby has your typical happy-go-lucky derpy Lab personality. This happy, friendly boy is playful and affectionate. He doesn't always know his own size, but he doesn't have a mean bone in his body. He has a tendency to knock people over in his excitement so will need a home with no small kids or unstable people. He loves toys and can occasionally be bossy with toys unless he's in the mood to share. He walks ok on leash and ride well in the car. He is house trained in his current foster home but could use a reminder on a few house manners such as not trying to swipe food off the counters! Gumby is fostered with several other dogs and does well with them, but he doesn't need another dog in his forever home to be happy. He has learned to live with the cats and respect their space but he will need a firm owner to make him continue to mind his manners around the kitties should he go to a home with cats. He's very friendly with his people and love humans above all else (except food of course). Due to his chronic ear infections, he doesn't always hear very well and would benefit form a family will to put time in with training and consider using hand signals with him. If you are interested in meeting Gumby, please submit an adoption application on our website. If you've already been approved to adopt, please contact your adoption coach for next steps. Please note you can request to be on one wait list at a time, and you can request to meet Gumby when he is ready, but he will not be available until June or July. This information is as up to date and accurate as possible for the dog in its current environment. All dogs and puppies will need time and training to adjust to their new surroundings and to learn the rules of their new home.
