Ginger is an affectionate, loyal 7 year old cattle dog mix looking for her own humans to love and dote on her.
Her owner passed away and she found herself at the shelter. A nice lady took her in temporarily and asked our rescue to find her a great forever home like she deserves.
Ginger loves all humans who will pet and love on her. Especially enjoys snuggles with the human kids in her foster home.
Low energy, easy going girl who enjoys the company of her humans and is a big time cuddler.
A home with no other pets to share the attention, would be best, because Ginger would love to be the only furry family member in your life.
Loves to go on daily walks and is not a puller, but does need to learn to walk next to her human instead of walking all over trying to enjoy all the smells of the world. She will growl at other dogs on her walk - fear based, letting them know to keep their distance.
Housetrained when taken out for regular potty breaks.
Crate trained and no issue going into her crate.
A quick learner of routines and knows a few basic commands 'sit and betime'.
Good house manners; doesn't beg or jump up on people, counters, etc.
Not destructive inside or outside.
She is still unsure of the doggie door going out but coming in is fun!
Not a big barker, but will alert you to strangers.
Rides well in the car if buckled or in a crate, otherwise she would end up in your lap. :)
Ground level apartments are ok or homes without any stairs. No physical issues, she's just scared to use the stairs.
Ginger is 69 lbs. (can stand to lose 5+ lbs), spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, rabies, heartworm negative and current on prevention.
The adoption fee is $300 which covers initial vetting and other needs plus a transport fee of $150, total adoption cost is $450.
