PLEASE NOTE, the Eskie in the photo with this listing is NOT available to foster or adopt. This photo is only to represent the breed to attract attention to this listing! Thank you for looking!
COVID-19 UPDATE: Due the country's current status, it is difficult to review homes for foster care, meaning that typically we would make a home visit, meet current pets and the entire family, introduce the potential foster dog to all in order to make sure that the dog chosen is a good match for the whole family. Please be patient with us as we come up with new plans to fit in with social distancing, mask wearing, while keeping all involved feeling safe. We always appreciate the offer and interest in fostering our dogs; it is completely necessary in order to carry-on and continue our mission, for the love of Eskies!
Foster Parents wanted! We always need new foster homes in Chicagoland and the surrounding suburbs! We have a challenge for you - that is - please help us save a life!!! Help us save the life of an American Eskimo Dog, Japanese Spitz, and sometimes Pomeranians too, or mixes of these breeds! While you are fostering a dog for us, we are working on finding a new furever home for our furbabies! Fostering is not always easy, but it is always rewarding! After finding you a good match, you take in the dog and treat as a member of your family; the dog will be under your care for an average of a month to a month and a half, sometimes two. We provide all of the vetting and costs associated with the vet care. You provide love, stability, basic training/manners, food if you can, and of course lots of affection and hugs. You will fall in love with each foster you take in, but you will do so knowing that they will be adopted out to a great home ...and only because you opened your door for that second chance the dog needed! Please join us for their sake, fostering really does save lives! Interested? Contact us by email with your questions and/or take a look at our NEW website! OR...Look for our adoption events, stop by and say hello! Please always feel welcomed to come out, meet us and some of our adoptable dogs! We will answer all of your questions about fostering! New dogs are always coming in.....we can only take in as many as we have room for...aka foster homes available. Sometimes pictures shown here on this listing are current and available to foster, other times they are former foster dogs and already adopted, OR currently already in a loving foster home. Males or females, assorted ages & sizes are available! Remember foster homes are asked to provide food, treats, toys, bedding if they can, plus exercise, and a warm loving environment, as if they were part of your family. All vet expenses are taken care of by the rescue! We only use our rescue approved vets while the dogs are in our care and being fostered. Foster parents and families always have first choice to adopt the dog, unless holding for an already approved adopter. Perhaps you are already an Eskie lover and owner, so want to help out since you know the breed! Otherwise, if you think an Eskie is the perfect choice for you and/or want to learn more about the breed, why not foster one to find out. Fenced yards are required for certain dogs, but not all! We take fosters without fenced yards too, it depends on the needs of the dog and whether that dog is a flight risk or not! Many/most rescue dogs DO STILL NEED to be house-trained/potty-trained. We always work hard to place a good match into your home! A vet reference and/or business reference and a home visit are required to foster for our rescue.
