Born December 2018, Klondike is a 95-pound one-year-old pup that came to us from a shelter. He probably has lived in a home at one time because he is potty trained and will sleep in a crate with no fuss. This teenager is learning doggy manners and enjoys playfully learning his boundaries. He can be mouthy too, but with exercise, mental stimulation, and appropriate chewing toys like a Nylabone, he is learning what is acceptable. He enjoys playing with a tennis ball.
He needs to continue fear-free dog training to help build confidence. New environments and experiences cause anxiety so baby steps for this pup. Practicing ZEN & giving "space" helps dogs adapt. He may benefit from having a female companion but no small pets of any kind.
**Northern Breed & Force-Free Dog Training Experience Required**
If you are interested in adopting or fostering Klondike, please contact CHAAMP at
[email protected] for an application. You may also complete an application online thru our web site, www.CHAAMP.org
CHAAMP accepts applications ONLY from Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, and Washington DC. The information on your application will help CHAAMP determine which of our dogs is a good match for you and your family, based upon your lifestyle, other pets, etc. A home visit is required prior to all adoptions. Many of our dogs are fostered in private homes and cannot be visited until you have been approved for adoption.
ADOPTION FEE is $275.00
All dogs are microchipped, spayed, and neutered and up to date on vaccines. These fees help us cover these costs. The rates are higher for puppies because they require more visits to the vet and shots.
CHAAMP IS NOT A SHELTER. We are volunteers over a 7-state area dedicated to helping Malamutes in our rescue area. You can read more about Malamutes and about CHAAMP by visiting www.CHAAMP.org
