Hi, my name is Nero. I was found running the streets in Desert Hot Springs, and a good Samaritan picked me up and brought me to the DHS shelter. I was in really rough shape, and my hair was so long and matted, they had to have me immediately shaved. I felt so much better after they did that for me! Nobody came to claim me during my stray hold, and nobody was showing any interest in adopting me, so they contacted this shelter to keep me from having to go to a shelter where I could potentially be euthanized if not adopted. The staff here got me in very quickly, and I really liked everyone right away, both people, and other dogs! I am very sweet and loving, and love to climb into your lap. I have a lot of energy, and love playing with my kennel mates. I would love to go into a home with other dogs because I really enjoy playing with them. I was adopted, but returned because I kept running out the front door and taking off.Although the vet estimated me to be approx 10 years old, my activity level is that of a 3 to 4 year old dog. I like to be playful and active. If you have any questions, or would like to meet me outside of my kennel, please ask staff.
Love, Nero
